Hackers Fill ISIS Twitter Accounts with Rainbows Following Orlando Attack

We will not tolerate the loss on innocent lives, says WanchulaGhost, one of the hackers behind the hacking of ISIS Twitter accounts

Following the attack on the LGBT community at a gay bar in Orlando, hackers decided to get back at the ISIS (Daesh) terror group by hacking into their Twitter accounts and changing their display pictures (DP) and covers to show support to the community with rainbows and tweets about supporting the victims.
One of the hacked accounts was renamed to Jacked by a Ghost, the DP read “I’m Gay and I’m Proud.” The hacker also changed the cover by replacing it with the rainbow flag representing the gay community. The purpose of the hack is to reclaim the social media from such terrorist groups that are influencing majority of the youth.

This is just one of the many accounts the hackers took over, dozens of accounts are spewing posts to support the community, while expressing love and concern for the ones who lost their lives in the Pulse attack, leaving a massive number of 49 dead and over 50 injured. Another account now named as Jacked by a Yeti also got hacked showing location at Gay Club, Kuwait with two men supporting the LGBT in the cover.
One of the hackers who go around by the name of WanchulaGhost has been hacking pro-terrorist accounts for the past couple of months according to a report by Newsweek. After the incident, the hacker started to target ISIS supporters through the accounts.
WaunchulaGhost told Newsweek that the purpose of the hacking is to support those who lost their lives in Orlando. The hacker added that the Daesh have been praising the attack and spreading it, so in order to defend the ones who lost their lives, he hacked the account. He also said that snatching innocent lives will not be tolerated anymore. He also added that there are at least five more hackers who have joined this initiative.

He also said that he is not trying to attack the Muslim community, the aim is to direct all actions towards jihadist extremists so that they stop taking innocent lives. He mentioned that all the hackers working on this mission respect the Muslims even some of the hackers are Muslims, who are helping to stop this act of brutality and cowardness. This is why the hackers have not used porn and related images directly but have shared links to the bolder content.
Since the ISIS group has started to take over the Internet, big platforms like Facebook have tried to do everything in their power to keep things under control by detecting the accounts that promote the kind of violence they want to spread. For Twitter, it has not been easy, even though the platform has a large number of users and many accounts; they have not been very successful in tracking down ISIS accounts.
